Anonymous asked: Hi, I was wondering if you could explain the whole pen-drawn, digitally-coloured process, please? Like, do you delete all the white on the pen layer and colour underneath, or trace it after having scanned it?
Ok I’ve gotten this question a couple of times and I’m gonna teach you some magic.
My first Photoshop tutorial that I ever got consisted entirely of learning this trick, and it’s probably one of the most important Photoshop basics you can learn for starting out.
Go to LAYERS, click on the drop-down menu that reads NORMAL, and set to MULTIPLY.
Make a new layer underneath your sketch layer for your colors, and…
blarish asked: how do you get the painted look of your colors like in your "summer 2012" picture? i've been trying to do it myself and i cant figure it out! your art is awesome, by the way :)
First of all, you’ll need the Sumi Brush from Stumpy Pencil.
Draw your lines…
And then drop some color in there.
(I’m usually kind of rough with the coloring).
Then get your Sumi brush that you just downloaded, and under “transfer,” set it to “pen pressure.”
And then use the Sumi brush to put in highlights, shadows, and sketchy details.
Texturize that lil guy, and…
Congratulations you have made FINE ART
